My Approach

My approach is built on foundations of being authentic, trauma-informed, and culturally aware. I focus on personal growth and acceptance, change and healing, finding meaning in relationships, and building confidence to face adversity.

I use an integrative approach, which means that I incorporate several different models of therapy based on the presenting problem and your individual needs. The therapies I draw from include:

Cognitive therapies (focus on how thoughts, beliefs, and underlying attitudes function related to feelings, actions, and patterns in interacting. There is emphasis on increasing competency and control of how you interact with the world around you.)

Narrative therapy (focus on separating the self from the problem in order to increase a sense of control and fulfillment. There is emphasis on developing internal strengths and sense of purpose to integrate past experiences and deal with future difficult times.)

Psychodynamic therapy (insight-oriented approach that explores how past experiences and relationships impact current functioning.)

Acceptance and Commitment therapy (focus on the art of living in the present moment without reaction, in order to separate from unhelpful thinking patterns and destructive behaviors, and to find worth.)

Structural/ Strategic therapy (focus on interactions between family members within the family hierarchy, helping to reinforce structure and boundaries.)

Services

Therapy for youth and teens

Life can feel very difficult as you become more aware of yourself and others. Your body changes, your mind changes, your outlook changes, and your needs change. You may be losing interests or finding new ones. Sometimes you don’t recognize how past and current experiences affect you, and sometimes you do but don’t know what to do next.

Therapy for adults

Committing to therapy is sometimes easy, sometimes hard; sometimes you know exactly what the issue is, sometimes you don’t. And that’s okay. Individual therapy can be a space to get new perspective, find validation, make a decision, heal, understand, or make change.

Support for families

Family meetings can be useful for addressing conflict, as well as family trauma, supporting parent-child relationships, life transitions, youth emotional difficulties, acculturation/first generation difficulties.

Fees

My fee is $185 per individual or family session.

Sliding scale options are available.

Cash, Venmo, or credit card are accepted as payment.

I provide a free 20-minute phone consultation to discuss support options and gauge whether the fit is appropriate.

At this time, I do not work within any insurance networks. I can provide documentation for insurance reimbursements if your plan provides out-of-network benefits. If you have Medi-Cal, please call the Access Line to get help finding support, (888) 246-3333.
